Our London Olympic weightlifters are going to have to put in a lot of training for the 2012 games. Weightlifting must have power, technique, flexibility and consistency. The weightlifter's strength comes mainly from the legs. The muscles that require the greatest amount of work are the quadriceps. There are, of course, many other muscles used - the back, anterior core, and shoulders. Weightlifting is a full body activity. The size of the lifter is not that important as they lift competitively in different weight groups.
